Pre-School

Our pre-school is open to all children from their third birthday.

We promote an approach to education which is based on the core values of mutual respect, self-esteem, dignity and critical awareness.

The inclusive nature of our unique ethical curriculum ensures no child is ever placed in a position in which they feel themselves an outsider.

Our pre-school will be based in our primary school, adjacent to our Reception class, sharing a wonderful outside learning space as a unit.

Our pre-school will offer:

A qualified teacher working in our Pre-School classroom.

-A unique ethical curriculum.

-A place where no child is an outsider.

-A well-resourced indoor and outdoor learning environment.

-The option to purchase additional sessions if required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please send us an e-mail or call us if you have any questions regarding our pre-school. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions.

Q: I couldn't make the tours but would like to come and see the pre-school.

A: Please call us or send an e-mail if you were unable to make our tours but would still like to visit our pre-school. We can then arrange a visit for you to see our fantastic learning environment.

Q: I need some help with choosing sessions for my child.

A: Please send us an e-mail at info@somerdaleet.org.uk if our current offering does not suit your situation. We can then look at this on an individual basis.

Q: Can my child start pre-school from as soon as they turn 3?

A: Yes, we accept children into our pre-school from after their third birthday. Government funded hours can be claimed the term after your child's third birthday. If you would like your child to start before this time, then we offer half-day sessions for £15, full-day sessions for £30 from as soon as your child turns three.

Q: Will my child have lunch at school if they attend half-days?

Children who are only attending in the morning will not have lunch at school. All children who are attending in the afternoons, and all full-time children will have a hot dinner cooked by our chef at a cost of £2.50 per meal.

Q: I am interested in wrap-around care.

If there is enough interest, and parental demand, then we would look into offering extended care. This would be at an additional cost and we would anticipate that it would include breakfast and after-school club. We would only be able to offer this is there was enough demand to make it financially viable, so please get in touch and let Amy, our administrator, know if wrap-around care is of interest.

If your application is dependent on the availability of wrap-around care, you can complete an application and ask to be put on our waiting list.
