This week's learning - Week commencing 11th February
Every Sunday we will update this section to inform you of our planned learning objectives for the coming week.
This week we will be...
-Naming and classifying 2D and 3D shapes based on their properties (number of sides, corners, faces)
-Describing, continuing and comparing repeating patterns. We will be creating our own repeating patterns.
-This week our guided reading will focus on workboxes and reviewing our phonics learning.
-Learning the grapheme/phonemes ‘ar, or, igh’ and practising all of the tricky words we have learnt so far.
-Exploring truth and honesty with our focus book ‘Supertato’
-Using Supertato to create a provocation linked to ethics, and using this to inspire our writing and our descriptive vocabulary.
-Exploring Darwin Day, and finding out more about Humanism.
Other things happening this week...
Wednesday 13th February: Claire Hucker from Charterhouse Q&A session with parents 8.50 - 9.10am in the school hall. (Parents encouraged to attend if they have any questions regarding our Charterhouse Visits which will commence next term)
Thursday 14th February: Share Together (Phonics Focus) 8.40 - 9.15am. An opportunities for family members and children to share their learning from their writing books, and to take part in some fun phonics activities.
Friday 15th February: Last day of Term 3
Monday 25th February: First day of Term 4
Friday 1st March 3.10 - 3.30pm: Fairtrade Fortnight Event. Come and find out what we have been learning about, and buy some Fairtrade chocolate treats, baked by the children in school. (info to be sent home this week regarding this event)
Tuesday 5th March & Thursday 7th March: Parent Evenings
Friday 5th April: Last day of Term 4
