Partnership for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools (PINS)
Somerdale Educate Together was thrilled to be one of the 12 schools in BANEs to take part in the PINS project. Although the project has now finished, it aimed to facilitate collaboration between a range of professionals and parents/carers to support children with neurodivergence, ensuring they receive the best possible educational experience.
It was funded by the Department for Education (DfE) and supported by the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) and NHS England (NHSE).
The main aim of the PINS project was to encourage and include health and education specialists and knowledgeable parent/carers into schools to work on the following aims:
- Shape whole school SEND provision with a particular focus on neurodiversity
- Provide early interventions at a whole school level
- Develop school staff’s understanding and expertise in neurodiversity
- Strengthen partnerships between schools, families, parent support forums and health providers to work together to support neurodivergent children.
